From the Auberge du Camp Romain.

Discover Burgundy, its oenological and architectural heritage

Wine.
If Burgundy is a world renowned centre of attraction, it is first and foremost for the quality of its wines, and you are here at the very heart of the most famous great wines, on the borders of the Côte Chalonnaise and the Côte de Beaune.

During tasting tours, you will discover famous appellations such as Givry, Mercurey, Montagny, or Rully, from grape varieties such as Pinot Noir for reds, or Chardonnay for whites.

As an exception, Bouzeron is exclusively made from the Aligoté variety.

Around Beaune, the lands mainly planted with Pinot Noir produce prestigious wines such as Volnay, Pommard, Ladoix.

Cultural visits.
Chassey le Camp invites you first to discover its brand new museum located in the town hall, right next to our hotel, and where came the authentic objects discovered on the Neolithic site.

(Chassey le Camp Archaeological Interpretation Center) is open for visits 4 days a week.

Then you should visit in priority: Beaune (20 km) with its superb hotel Dieu with its multicolored roofs

The medieval castle of La Rochepot (18 Km), or that of Couches built in the 10th century ...

Going a little further away from Chassey le Camp, you will still discover monuments and key sites such as Autun and its Gallo-Roman remains; Cluny abbey: the largest complex of Romanesque religious, military and civil architecture of the 16th and 17th centuries; Dijon, city of the Dukes of Burgundy or the village of Solutré Pouilly with its famous rock classified prehistoric site ...

Less than an hour from the Auberge du Camp Romain, Châteauneuf-en-Auxois castle, one of the last witnesses of 14th century military architecture, installed in a village now classified as one of the "Most beautiful villages of France".

Feel free to ask us, we will be happy to advise you in the best places to discover in our beautiful region.
